about Stagelights

Stagelights Amateur Theatre Group has been performing plays in Grove since 1985, originally in The Village Hall and since 1990 in The Old Mill Hall.

Stagelights was formed in 1983 (originally calling itself "Grove Theatre Group") as an offshoot from the Harlequin Group which was based at AERE Harwell (now AEA Technology). For many years we performed our plays in Grove Village Hall and then moved to the Old Mill Hall as the first regular user.

Our aims are enshrined in our constitution:

• producing plays;
• providing a social activity for the Groups members and their friends;
• enhancing the life of Grove

We stage two plays each year, a family production around Christmastime, and a play with a more adult theme during the spring/summer. The archive lists some of the productions we have presented over the past 12 years.

Stagelights are always on the look out for new members, (Over 16s only please) so if you fancy ‘treading the boards’, working behind the scenes or just being a social member we’d be delighted to meet you.
